VICTORIAS SECRET DEBUT LONDON STORE
The start of this week saw the opening of London’s first ever Victora’s Secret in Westfield Stratford. This is all in perfect time with this weekend’s London Olympics opening ceremony, as the Olympic Park neighbours the shopping centre. The store is femininely embellished with pink walls and chandeliers, just how a boudoir should be.
To further mark the occasion, the store’s window displays will feature the label’s most iconic ensembles. Plus, an immense selection of the brand’s ‘panties’, ‘Cheekies’ and ‘Hiphuggers’ all marketed by the famous ‘Angels’. But it’s not all underwear, they also sell sleepwear, clothing, swimwear, accessories and beauty. The store even has it’s own limited edition fragrance - made from a mix of violet leaves, mandarin and Neroli flower, inspired by the 'beauty and romance of the city'.
Now, more about those Angels... Since, the first advertising campaign in 1997, the Victoria Secret ‘Angels’, also known as the brand’s spokeswomen, have been the voice, face, and body of the label. (Whilst those featured on the catwalk are titles ‘Runway Angels’). A number of well known women have claimed their fame this way including Tyra Banks, Claudia Schiffer and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Current Angels include, Miranda Kerr, Chanel Iman, and Alessandra Ambrosio.
The second of London’s stores, on Bond Street, is rumoured to open in two weeks.
