SHOES FASHION - CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN HAS MADE FAIRYTALES COME TRUE
Cinderella’s glass slippers have always been shoes that were made from dreams. It’s an iconic pair of footwear that represents fairytales and happily ever afters. However, it’s not a fantasy anymore as shoe legend, Christian Louboutin has reworked the classic high heels and has given it a modern makeover! The shoes were created to celebrate the rerelease of the Diamond Edition of Cinderella on Blu-Ray and DVD in October.
The crystal-encrusted shoes are not made from glass (can you imagine the blisters?) but are instead made with a much friendlier material of white lace. The heels features the iconic red soles, are 120 cm high and covered with Swarovski crystals and crystal embellished butterflies. Talk about a sparkle with each step!
When asked about the character, the famous shoe designer stated "Cinderella is not only an iconic character when it comes to beauty, grace and fairy tale love but also shoes. Her character and her story dictated the design to me; it was all there in the pages and the words of this tale. "The slipper is the magic wand of transformation, which conjures confidence, beauty and love," said Louboutin. "The dream is a major factor in my language of design. There are no limits in the world of fantasy and there is always a happily ever after."
The limited-edition launch of the open-toe shoes was unveiled during Paris Couture Fashion Week. Only 20 will be made of which will all be given away as competitions in various countries so unfortunately, these shoes can’t be bought (not that I can afford to)!
What do you think about these shoes? Do you think it’s a true representation of the classic glass slippers? It’s certainly a fairytale come true!
