TALK ABOUT GLAMOROUS SHOES - SPRING HEELS

In the world of Carrie Bradshaw, a woman’s happiness largely depends on the scope of her shoes collection. Now, I will not affirm that this statement reflects reality. Admittedly, however, purchasing a new pair of beautiful shoes can definitely uplift a girl’s mood. I myself may have a slight addiction to classy footwear, possessing ballet flats and high heels of nearly all colour ranges, and the vast selection of new shoe trends presented this Spring will not help me recover anytime soon.

Indeed, this season, we’re blessed with the possibility of embracing a variety of high heel trends. Below, I’ve listed a few for you, which ELLE has notably brought to my attention.

1) The Pointed-Toe Pump: This classic heel has recently made a fashion comeback. It makes for an elegant touch to any outfit (even when worn in a basic colour with jeans). In sync with this Spring’s colour obsession, it is featured in many different shades, textures and designs - all you have to do is take your pick!

2) The Reptilian Print: When I first saw a woman wearing snakeskin high-heeled boots, I was a child and immediately screamed in horror, partially due to my belief in animal rights and my extreme fear of snakes. Now, to my discomfort, the trend has re-surfaced. Whether made of real or faux skin, these pumps will definitely add a daring touch to any look.

3) Strapped Around the Ankle: I just bought a pair of gorgeous nude heels, with a thick black strap that ties around the ankle. This is a trend I have frequently spotted whilst window-shopping. It recalls a lost era of elegant footwear and is best matched with a tailored suit or a blouse and mid-length skirt.

4) PVC: Designers, such as Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin and Oscar de la Renta, astounded crowds, after displaying this trend on the runways. Since then, it has caught on like wild fire. If you’re looking to show a bit of skin while simultaneously appearing slightly futuristic, this is the one to follow. Keep the trend simple with nude or clear nail polish.

So, if the rainy weather has brought your spirits down, why not treat yourself to one of this season’s top heels and literally follow in fashionista Bradshaw’s footsteps?
