PLASTIC DREAMS IN LONDON - MELISSAS FIRST POP-UP STORE

It has been the Plastic Fantastic era in the fashion world in the past decade and reinforced now by a big Plastic trend.

Founded 30 years ago, the avant-garde Brazilian brand Melissa, with its scented plastic moulded shoes have been very successful in the past few years, introducing her fun designs around the world including Italy. The brand has also collaborated with well-known designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Jean Paul Gaultier & Ronaldo Fraga, artists including Gaeteno Pesce and cartoon characters like Snoopy!

It has indeed been a ‘Plastic Dream’ so far for the uprising shoe designer, and it all continues with the recent opening of the Pop Up store in London to celebrate the Olympics.

In fact, on Friday the 13th of July, two weeks before the Grand Olympic Opening Ceremony, Melissa inaugurated her temporary store in Convent Garden, on 15 King Street. The event was hosted by famous artists and designers along who Julie Verhoeven and Kleber Matheus, creators of the in store colourful installations.

In the heart of London, the plastic doll-like brand, with various designs and colours for a wide range of clients from women to children, is being exposed to the world during this Olympic Summer for the first time in a standalone store.

So if you haven’t been introduced to the Plastic world yet, this is your chance!
