MUST-HAVE PRINTS THIS AW 2012

According this month’s issue of Marie Claire there are a few must-have shades that should have been sitting in your closet, just waiting to be worn, flashed and flaunted around.

1) Feeling a little blue are we? With winter approaching, the weather will pull your mood down a bit. But don't fret about it and just bloom your wardrobe with the blossomy shades of blue. This autumn-winter collection is just bubbling with blues, and it's time for you to raid your collection with this adaptable colour. Blue can be worn during the day as well as the night so you don't need to worry about burning a hole in that denim pocket of yours.

2) Bling-bong - Remember the time when Chinese collars and oriental prints were in vogue. Well now those babies are back with a bang! Chinese collars and the blues, reds and golden prints have made Marie Claire's must haves page. Satin and silk materials with oriental beadwork and fine print are what must occupy your closet as well. If you do not want to go all the way, then how about trying on an oriental printed scarf or poke chopsticks in your hair?

3) Go the gothic way - Remember Georgina Sparks (Michelle Tranchtenberg) from Gossip Girl? That's the look you want to go for, not too dark, yet very stylish. The vampire-goth look brings out the sexy yet dominant you, without intimidating anyone. The main materials that play up this look are chiffons, velvets and lace. You can never go wrong with a pair of elegant lace shoes or a red velvet gown (if you want to make a large fashion statement).

4) The Tipsy Gypsy - Folk prints are gorgeous this season and are one of the boldest style statements that you can play around with. Fine printed satin trousers with a formal chiffon shirt are office chic, whereas tasselled and homespun woolly handbags and patch-worked sweaters is glamour unique.
