FOOTWEAR TRENDS FOR 09 - PART 2
As promised, here is the second installment of the remaining 5 key footwear trends anticipated for S/S 09:
Multi-Tie: Shoes and sandals with multiple laces, tie-backs and knots. This trend conincides well with the current tribal and bohemian trends.
Gold Metallic: Both heavy and luxurious metallic shades are set to be hot with gold as a key colour. The 'luxe' look has been revamped in shades of rich metallic golds, bronzes, copper and also space silver. Search our collection: Dark Silver/Grey Patent Knee High Boots.
Yellow Accents: Yellow is an anticipated shade for S/S and this season the colour was mixed with black detailing such as contrast soles, straps or ribbons. Think bold and bright!
T-Bar Straps: Designs varied across the runways but all the same were very popular; Cavalli and Burberry showcased thin and strappy designs whilst the likes of Viktor and Rolf and Sophia Kokosalaki were audacious and bold. Search our collection: Taupe Gladiator Style Platform Sandals, Dusky Pink Multi-Strap Wedge Sandals, Multi-Colour Leather Effect Gladiator Sandals.
Novelty Designs: We can't expect LFW without some level of whacky designs. Novelty heels are always a favourite on the runway and thanks to the likes of Mischa Barton who wore the Fertility God heels by John Galliano for Christian Dior, novelty styles are slowly but surely increasing in popularity on the high street.
This ought to give us fashionistas some footwear for thought, at least for a while anyway! We've given you our favourites - which are your favourites?
