DAVID BECKHAM IS ELLES FIRST EVER MALE SOLO COVER STAR
Role model, designer, ambassador, heartthrob, fashion icon, father, footballer, and now, history maker. David Beckham is ELLEs July issue cover star, making him the first ever male featured solo on the cover.
With the London 2012 Olympic Games quickly approaching, Beckham is doing everything he can to promote Britain in its best light. After collecting the torch, you can’t deny that making history a little is a good way to start making a lot.
Editor-in-chief Lorraine Candy said: ‘David Beckham is a national hero... He is an icon and Elle is known for featuring icons on its cover. This is a first for us on the newsstand and I believe he is loved by men and women alike.’ She ensures ‘It will be a collector’s issue’.
A teaser video was released before the cover featuring Beckham playing around in the water shown in the image (left) during his photoshoot. Plus, a few teaser photos were released to help you ‘Prepare Yourself’ and provoke excitement.
The issue features more delicious photos, and an interview with the man himself revealing details of his past fashion faux-pas, future photo shoots and style advice.
