ACCESSORISE WITH GLITTER
December is, undoubtedly, my favourite time of the year - shimmering lights colouring white piles of snow, families gathered around the big Christmas tree tearing colourful wrapping paper, chocolate scent coming out of the hanging from the fireplace Christmas socks and spectacular fireworks to send out the last year and greet a new and better one.
When January comes, however, the glamour and glitter are suddenly gone and we all feel a little blue. So what is that one thing that will bring us back memories of the holidays? A post-Christmas shopping spree, of course! So put on some comfortable shoes, break that piggy bank of yours and go to get this season’s must-have - a shiny, playful festive skirt to make next December seem a bit closer.
The good thing about this new trend is that it goes for every occasion and is budget-friendly because you can use one skirt for different looks. Why not try a sequined high waist pencil skirt combined with a modest plain shirt in the office for a fun, but professional, look. Then just loose the shirt and replace it with an eye-catching bustier top, add some heels and you have the ultimate hot-chick outfit for a wild night in the club.
Celebrities are also inspired by the new trend. We love what Miranda Kerr was wearing at the Fire Tree fragrance oil launch. The supermodel mom combined a silk brocade skirt by Proenza Schouler with a black sheer shirt and crossed-strap shoes. She accessorised with a black oval clutch bag - fun, sexy and fashionable.
