THE NEW POLKA DOT TREND FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2015
When you think of summer and think of fashion trends, one trend that springs to mind pretty much instantly is the classic polka dots. When it’s warm and sunny they trend to come out in one form or another! Usually in small and cute ditsy spots - but not this time. This season gives a nod to big and bold polka dots and even those in sporadically spaced prints.
Traditional polka dots have been flawlessly shaped to perfection; little monochrome spots, equally spaced. Yawn! Its time to tick that out of the window and welcome a far more interesting breed! These dots are mammoth sized, colourful and pretty much all over the place.
Marc by Marc Jacobs lead the way on the catwalks, as did Roksanda and Stella Jean.
Personally, I cant wait to play on a little imagination with this trend and my next wardrobe item!
