GIORGIO ARMANI ACQUA FOR LIFE CHALLENGE
We love Giorgio Armani not only for our favourite fashion styles and his stunning runaway looks, but also for his “going green” tendencies in the recent past. 2012 was a second year of huge success for his “Acqua for Life Challenge”, which aims to provide clean drinking water to poor communities globally.
With every purchase of his Acqua fragrances, which include Acqua di Gioia and Acqua di Gio, Armani promised to provide 100 liters of drinking water to countries in need, such as Bolivia and Ghana. While each customer donated 100 liters of water with every Armani bottle, Facebook users, who liked the Acqua for life page, contributed 50 liters each.
With over 52 million liters, more than 8 of which coming from Armani fans clicking the “like” button, the charity far surpassed its target. Instead of 40 million liters, Armani and
Green Cross International managed to deliver over 52 million liters of drinking water.
